Participation of representatives of the department in the webinar "The first anniversary of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) procedure: application experience and prospects for improvement"

      

Representatives of the department of international relations and social sciences – members of the project (working) group on development of educational and scientific program (ESP) "History of Ukraine" for training applicants of the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education in the specialty 032 "History and archeology" as part of the head of the department, prof. Shevchuk O. V., the guarantor of the ESP prof. Strilets V. V. and members of the project team (prof. Bilan S. O., prof. Lyubovets O. M., assoc. prof. Kravchenko N. B. and assoc. prof. Lanovyuk L. P.) participated in the webinar organized by the National agency for quality assurance of higher education "First anniversary of the Ph. D. Award procedure: application experience and prospects for improvement".
The chairman Andriy Butenko addressed the participants of the webinar from different HEEs of Ukraine with a welcoming speech.
Head of the department of support of one-time councils and analytics of the National agency Leontiy Shypilov spoke on the topic: "Procedure for awarding the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and cancellation of the decision of the one-time specialized academic council of a higher education institution or scientific institution to award the degree of Doctor of Philosophy: typical questions of institutions and establishments".
Deputy director of the department of certification of highly qualified personnel of the Ministry of education and science of Ukraine Mykhailo Holubev made a report on the topic "Formation of one-time specialized academic councils by higher education institutions (scientific institutions): reasons for stopping, analysis of violations".
In his speech the deputy chairman Ivan Nazarov was speaking about canceling the decision of the one-time council to award the degree of Doctor of philosophy in connection with the establishment of the facts of academic plagiarism, fabrication, falsification."
The speech on the topic "State registration of defended dissertations. Changes and features of the order " was made by the deputy director for scientific and informational work of the Ukrainian Institute of scientific, technical and economic information Oleksiy Sukhyi.
Head of the scientific department of organization of training and certification of scientific and pedagogical personnel of the scientific and methodological Center for organization of scientific and scientific-technical activities of the National Defense University of Ukraine Yuriy Olshevskyi shared his experience in implementing the procedure for awarding the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in this higher military educational institution.
Speech by the vice-rector for research of the Yaroslav the Wise National Law University Dmytro Luchenko dealt with the problems of terminological certainty and unambiguity as directions for improving the procedure for awarding the degree of Doctor of philosophy.

The materials of the webinar will be taken into account in the preparation of applicants for doctor of philosophy in specialty 032 "History and archeology" at the department of international relations and social sciences.
