Professional discussion of master's qualification works as an indicator of the quality and effectiveness of an educational program

The Department of Applied Biology, Animal Breeding, and Genetics held a professional discussion of the master's qualification works of Master's degree candidates, the completion of which is assigned to the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department. The event became an important component of the internal quality assurance system of the educational process and demonstrated a high level of integration of educational and scientific activities.

During the discussion, higher education students presented the results of their own research, outlined the methodological approaches used, the scientific novelty, and the practical significance of the results obtained. The department staff provided professional comments and recommendations on the interpretation of data, the logic of drawing conclusions, and opportunities for further research development in the context of the current needs of the livestock industry.

Special mention was made of the master's theses of students Regina OLIINYK and Varvara TURCHENKO, who studied under the educational and professional program “Technology of Production and Processing of Livestock Products” and carried out their work at horse farms in France and Germany. The research was unique in that the experimental and analytical parts of the theses were based on real production and breeding data, as well as approaches commonly used in European horse breeding practices. This format of master's theses significantly increases their practical value and helps students develop an international professional perspective.

The presented results demonstrated the ability of students to work with large amounts of breeding information, use index methods to assess genetic potential, and reasonably justify directions for optimizing breeding programs in horse breeding. The works aroused interest and active professional discussion among the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department.

Such discussions are an important tool for academic support of students, contribute to the development of research and communication skills, and confirm the openness of the educational and professional program “Technology of Production and Processing of Livestock Products” to international experience and modern practices in the industry.

Serhii Ruban, Head of the Department of Applied Biology, Animal Breeding and Genetics, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, and Anna Lykhach, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, guarantor of the educational and professional program “Technology of Production and Processing of Livestock Products,” noted the high level of preparation of the master's qualification works presented for professional discussion. Particular attention was paid to works carried out in close cooperation with production and using international experience, which significantly increases their scientific and applied value. Such research is convincing evidence of the effectiveness of the educational and professional program, the professional responsibility of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the department, and the readiness of graduates to solve the complex tasks of modern animal husbandry in the national and international context.
