The priority scientific directions of the department's activity are:

• diagnosis, treatment and prevention of surgical pathology of organs of the thoracic and abdominal cavities in animals;
• the spread of diseases of the musculoskeletal system among domestic and farm animals and their treatment, the study of the effectiveness of stimulants on the reparative process during osteosynthesis in animals;
• diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the eye of infectious and non-infectious etiologies in animals;
• development of methods of electric welding of biological tissues of organsof abdominal and thoracic cavities;
• nanotechnology in veterinary surgery;
• endoscopy in thoracic and abdominal veterinary surgery;
• properties of stem cells of animals depending on their species, conditions of obtaining, cultivation, storage and their use in cell therapy to restore the structure of pathologically altered tissues of the animal body;
• blood transfusion for anemia of different genesis in animals of different species.
