Research Institute of Technology and Quality of Animal Products
The Research Institute of Livestock Products Technologies and Quality is a structural scientific unit of the National University of Life Resources and Environmental Management of Ukraine (NUBLM of Ukraine), established by the orders of the rector dated December 26, 2014 No. 1455, 1459 based on the decision of the Academic Council dated December 24, 2014 No. 6 on the basis of problem-solving research units and educational-scientific-production laboratories of the Faculty of Life Resources and Aquatic Bioresources and the Faculty of Food Technologies and Quality Management of Agricultural and Industrial Complex Products with the aim of widely involving the teaching staff, scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers, doctoral students, postgraduate students, masters and students in solving important scientific and technical problems of industry development.
Scientific research at the Research Institute is carried out by 159 employees, including 2 academicians, 1 corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 24 doctors of sciences, professors, 75 candidates of sciences, associate professors, 6 candidates of sciences, assistants, who work at 11 departments.
The priority areas of scientific research at the Research Institute are:
- creation of new and improvement of existing breeds, types and lines of dairy and meat cattle, farm poultry and bees;
- creation of fundamentally new technologies for preserving generative cells and embryos of farm animals of the main species;
- improvement of the technology of production of pork, lamb and rabbit meat using energy-saving and resource-saving approaches to industry management;
- improvement of technologies for production of livestock products in contaminated areas;
- development of modern technologies for the production of a new generation of mineral premixes and improvement of biotechnological methods for obtaining BAS;
- theoretical and experimental justification of animal feeding methods to stimulate productivity, regulate metabolic processes and increase the biological value of livestock products;
- development of projects for fish farming and biological justification of the use of water bodies for fishery purposes;
- assessment of the state of ichthyofauna of inland reservoirs and development of effective methods of reproduction and use of industrially valuable fish species;
- creation of functional food products using marine aquaculture facilities and beekeeping products.
- creation of technologies for the production of qualitatively new food products with a purposefully changed biochemical composition, in accordance with the needs of the human body;
- solving urgent issues of nutrition of children and the adult population of Ukraine;
- assessment of the prospects, feasibility and compliance with human needs of new food technologies (nanotechnologies, genetically modified products, etc.);
- monitoring of toxic compounds in food raw materials and their impact on the quality and safety of finished products;
- development of harmonized European, international, national standards for food and technologies for its production and processing;
- improvement of the requirements of national standards for management systems that would ensure the rational use of resources and meet high requirements for product quality in agricultural production;
- optimization of process parameters of machines for processing agricultural products, based on the criteria of resource conservation and reliability in operation.
