NUBiP is at the forefront of global biosafety trends: postgraduate students of the department at a powerful international training!

Science does not stand still, and postgraduate students of the leading Department of Animal Technology of the famous NUBiP of Ukraine are always at the center of the most important industry events!

The world community is sounding the alarm over the problem of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Aquatic Bioresources is actively involved in solving this global challenge.

On May 19, postgraduate students of the Department of Animal Husbandry Technologies Oleksandr Zinchenko and Oleksandr Natalich became participants of a super-powerful practical intensive - “Training 1: Understanding Antimicrobial Resistance and Requirements for the Use of Antibiotics in Animal Husbandry”.

This large-scale event is being implemented within the framework of the authoritative international project Epic (Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control) with the support of the United States of America (UNITED STATES of AMERICA) and the Association of Pig Farmers of Ukraine (ASU). The event took place in the picturesque hotel and restaurant complex "Morewell" in the Kyiv region.

What is the focus of attention of our young scientists?

The training program is extremely rich and interactive: In-depth analysis of the mechanisms of AMR development and why it is a critical challenge for every producer; Legislative requirements, rules of veterinary prescriptions and responsible use of antimicrobial drugs (AMR); Algorithms of actions and susceptibility testing in case of animal or herd disease.

A special highlight of this productive day was a two-stage teamwork (a group exercise to solve real practical cases) under the guidance of leading international and national experts: Vitaliy Bashynskyi, Vitaliy Piotrovich, and Olga Bekh.

The participation of our graduate students in projects of this level is not only about acquiring unique European and American competencies, but also about integrating advanced practices into domestic science and production.

We are proud of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Oleksandr Natalich! We wish our young scientists new scientific achievements! We keep our finger on the pulse of innovations together with NUBiP!
