NUBiP of Ukraine is presented for the first time in QS Sustainability Ranking 2026

The National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine is represented for the first time in the global sustainability ranking QS Sustainability Ranking 2026, which evaluates the contribution of universities to solving environmental, social and administrative challenges in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This year's ranking includes 2001 educational institutions from 108 countries, including 18 universities from Ukraine.


QS Sustainability Ranking is formed on the basis of three categories — Environmental Impact, Social Impact and Governance, covering 9 analytical sub-indicators. The assessment of universities is carried out by analyzing research, educational programs, institutional policies, the level of involvement of the university community and partnerships that demonstrate the effectiveness of the institution in promoting the principles of sustainable development.


According to the results of QS Sustainability Ranking 2026 NUBiP of Ukraine has occupied:

1501 + place in the world

499th place among 620 universities in Europe

10th place among 18 Ukrainian universities

Among the results obtained, the most significant indicator for the university was the Knowledge Exchange indicator, which evaluates the activity of international partnerships and the participation of the university community in knowledge transfer. The high position in this area reflects the active participation of teachers, postgraduates and students in scholarship programs and academic mobility programs abroad. Every year, representatives of the University undergo internships, participate in joint research, conferences and study at leading European institutions, which contributes to the integration of NUBiP of Ukraine into the international educational and scientific space.

The category reflects transparency of governance, institutional autonomy, financial openness, ethical principles, and student involvement in the decision-making process.

Including NUBiP of Ukraine into QS Sustainability Ranking 2026 for the first time confirms the consistent work of the University in the areas of environmental and social responsibility, the development of interdisciplinary research and the formation of modern educational policy. The presentation in this ranking highlights the importance of the University's scientific developments for food, water and environmental safety in Ukraine, and also demonstrates the high relevance of our research in a global context. The results of the assessment reflect the level of international integration of the university, expansion of partnerships and participation in international educational and scientific programs, which corresponds to modern European trends in the development of Universities of life sciences.


The indicators published also determine promising directions for further development of NUBiP of Ukraine: improving environmental policy, increasing the inclusivity of the educational environment, strengthening the transparency of institutional governance and expanding international cooperation. The university will continue to focus on participation in Erasmus+, Horizon Europe and other EU initiatives, the development of research in the fields of climate, water resources and sustainable agrosystems, as well as the introduction of modern environmental approaches to the functioning of the university campus. Such efforts will help to strengthen the position of NUBIP of Ukraine among the leading universities in the region and increase its contribution to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
