Education

Graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the National Agrarian University (now NUBiP of Ukraine) in 1995 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine from NAU in 1996.

Dissertation research

In 2000, under the supervision of Professor Zakharenko M.O., defended the thesis for the degree of Candidate of Veterinary Sciences (speciality 16.00. 06 – Veterinary Sanitation and Hygiene) on the topic: ‘The influence of aliphatic amines and the sorbent humolite on the resistance and metabolic status of animals.’
In 2004, L.V. Shevchenko was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Animal Hygiene.
In 2011, Shevchenko L.V. defended her dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Science (specialty 16.00. 06 – Animal Hygiene and Veterinary Sanitation) on the topic: ‘Scientific justification for the use of carotenoids in the prevention of functional disorders in farm animals.’ Scientific advisor, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, Professor M.O. Zakharenko.
The academic degree of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences was awarded in 2012.
The academic title of Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Sanitation was awarded in 2014.


Scientific interests

Food safety and quality in terms of contamination with pesticides and antibacterial agents.
Safety and quality of craft dairy products and determination of criteria for their authenticity.
Determination of the effectiveness of using biopreservatives for meat and meat products.
