The Department of General, Organic and Physical Chemistry was organized in 2018 as an independent structural unit of the Faculty of Agrobiology.  The department was headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Lidia Oleksandrivna Kovshun.

The main tasks of the department:

- providing students with knowledge, abilities and skills in general chemistry, organic chemistry, bioorganic chemistry, macromolecular chemistry, physical and colloid chemistry in accordance to the credit-module system and approved programs;

- teaching organic, bioorganic, physical and colloid chemistry in English;

- creation of programs for educational disciplines and development of educational and methodological complexes based on modern pedagogical and scientific technologies

- provision of disciplines taught at the department with modern educational and methodological literature and electronic educational resources;

- performing fundamental and applied scientific research on the chemistry of mono- and polyphosphates of divalent metals and their solid solutions, which exhibit biological activity and have other useful properties;

- development and implementation of physico-chemical methods for analysis of objects of the natural environment and chemical means of agriculture;

- attracting students to participate in scientific research;

- presenting the results of scientific research in national and international specialist publications;

- implementation of scientific developments in industry;

- presentation of the results of scientific research in national and international specialized publications.
