About the Program
The educational and professional program (EPP) for training second-level (master's) higher education students in specialty 101 “Ecology” contains the number of ECTS credits required to obtain the corresponding degree of higher education; a list of graduate competencies; the normative content of training for higher education applicants, formulated in terms of learning outcomes; forms of assessment of higher education applicants; requirements for the existence of an internal quality assurance system for higher education.
The educational and professional program for training specialists of the second (master's) level of higher education “Ecology and Environmental Protection” in the specialty 101 ‘Ecology’ was developed in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education,” Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated November 23, 2011, No. 1341 “On Approval of the National Qualifications Framework” with amendments in accordance with Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated June 25, 2020, No. 519, No. 1187 of December 30, 2015, “On Approval of Licensing Conditions for Educational Activities of Educational Institutions,” taking into account the Regulations “On Educational Programs at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine” approved by the protocol of the Academic Council of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine dated April 26, 2023, No. 10, the Standard of Higher Education of the relevant specialty.
Purpose of the Educational Program
The aim of the educational and professional program is to develop in future specialists the ability to dynamically combine knowledge, skills, communication skills, and abilities with autonomous activity and responsibility when solving tasks and problems in the field of ecology, environmental protection, and balanced nature management, as well as the implementation of innovative technologies in professional activities.

Features of the Educational Program
For one group, the program is taught in English. The first semester of the first year of study is an international mobility semester. The program requires students to complete academic and industrial internships in the environmental departments of enterprises, research institutions, and the Central Office, territorial and interregional territorial bodies of the State Environmental Inspection of Ukraine.
Employment
According to the current edition of the National Classifier of Ukraine: Classifier of Professions (DK 003:2010) and International Standard Classification of Occupations 2008 (ISCO-08), a graduate with a professional qualification of “Master of Ecology” can be employed in positions with the following professional titles: ecologist (2211.2); junior research assistant (nature conservation) (2213.1); radiation safety inspector (2111.2); environmental education specialist (2211.2); manager (administrator) of natural resource use (1412) or hold the following primary positions: head of laboratory (research, production preparation) (1237.2).
Further Study
A master's degree in Ecology entitles the holder to continue their studies in the postgraduate program 101 Ecology, which prepares students for a PhD.

The Higher Education Educational and Professional Program (EPP) “Ecology,” under specialty E2 “Ecology” at the second educational and professional level, is designed to prepare students for a master’s degree in the field of E—Natural Sciences, a body of knowledge, skills, and competencies for application in professional activities in the field of ecology; capable of solving complex problems in the environmental protection sector; capable of expanding and reevaluating existing knowledge and professional practices regarding issues in the life sciences and the natural environment, as well as the use and restoration of ecosystem bioresources; capable of conducting critical analysis, evaluate and synthesize new ideas, and implement the latest environmental protection technologies. The educational program has a clearly defined objective, specifies the expected learning outcomes, and outlines the criteria for assessing the quality of training for future master’s degree holders in this specialty. The structure of the educational program includes sections containing the following thematic blocks: general information, description of the educational program, program competencies (integral, general, and professional components), program learning outcomes, resources for implementing the program, and academic mobility.
