NUBiP of Ukraine at Tech360: synergy of agricultural education and business on the development of human capital of the post-war state

An outstanding event of the IT industry was held in Kyiv — the Tech360: Policy Meets Technology conference. This is a frank conversation about the full cycle of IT business development in Ukraine from domestic economic role and state policy to investment, human capital, global markets and technological sovereignty. This year, at the invitation of the organizers, the rector of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine Vadym TKACHUK has taken part in the event.

Tech360 combined two streams: strategic and thematic sessions. At these sites, a professional dialogue was held, where more than 60 speakers and 800 guests shared their experience, found points of cooperation and were building up a common vision for the development of the IT industry in Ukraine.

The organizers of the conference, the IT Association of Ukraine, understanding the importance of specialists working in the industry, held a separate discussion «Common denominator: How business and education together form national human Capital in the IT industry». At the round table there are rectors of leading higher educational institutions that train students in IT specialties, founders of educational platforms and heads of educational divisions of IT companies. Participants shared their experience, problems and prospects of training specialists for various sectors of the economy in the conditions of war and post-war reconstruction.

Rector Vadym TKACHUK spoke about the needs of the agricultural business and the specifics of training IT specialists. NUBiP of Ukraine is a leading university in training personnel for agricultural producers and the development of rural areas. The challenges facing the industry digitalization, automation, integration of AI into production processes, analytics, monitoring, reporting and effective quality management require specialized knowledge in crop production, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, agricultural engineering, construction and architecture, land management, etc. Accordingly, the educational process is materially, technically, and technologically intensive. This is where the synergy of agricultural education and business manifests itself, the rector noted.

Participation in the conference was a significant impetus to the beginning of new partnerships, accumulation of ideas, development of joint approaches to the modernization of educational programs, their adaptation to the needs of the labor market and the introduction of practice-oriented training formats. The main thread of the conversation was the need for closer integration of universities with business, the creation of joint innovation platforms for students.

NUBiP of Ukraine has shown the University's readiness to actively participate in the development of a new quality of human capital that would meet the challenges of the digital economy and the needs of post-war state reconstruction.
