NUBiP of Ukraine was well represented at the European championship in kettlebell sports in England

On May 14-18, 2026, the European championship in kettlebell sports was held in the city of York (England), which gathered more than 300 participants from 22 European countries.


As part of the national team of Ukraine, lecturers, students and graduates of NUBiP of Ukraine successfully performed, demonstrating a high level of sportsmanship and once again confirming the authority of the university on the international arena.


A significant contribution to the achievements of the Ukrainian team was made by the lecturer of the department of physical culture and sports Valentyn BERBENYCHUK, who became the European champion in the team relay in the "long cycle" discipline, winning 1st place.


Evheniy KALIBERDA, a student of the faculty of law, also performed excellently. According to the results of the competition, the athlete took 2nd place in the triathlon and 1st place in the half-marathon (30 minutes).


Another gold award for Ukraine and NUBiP of Ukraine was chosen by the 2024 graduate of the faculty of plant protection, biotechnologies and ecology, Ilya FURSA, who became the winner of the team relay in the "long cycle" exercise.


The training of the athletes was done by Valentyn BERBENYCHUK, a lecturer of the department of physical culture and sports, and Vitaliy ANDRIYASH, a lecturer of the department, was invited as a judge of the European Championship. In addition, both of our lecturers successfully passed certification and received certificates of passing and continuation of the international referee category, which is an important recognition of the professional level in kettlebell sports.


The participation of representatives of NUBiP of Ukraine in the European Championship was another confirmation of the high level of sports development at the university, the professional work of the department of physical culture and sports, and the significant contribution of the university sports community to the development of Ukrainian sports on the international arena.
